AutoCorrect without trailing space (Word97 -SR2)

Hi –

Trying to insert an AutoCorrect entry without space after it. Specifically to insert the euro symbol without a trailing space so the number abuts the symbol:

If you define (e) to be replaced by the euro sign, you won’t have to type a trailing space, because the closing bracket counts as punctuation too.
Otherwise, is Ctrl+Alt+5 that difficult?

My thanks. I had tried using an ‘e’ with the pound sign and a few other combinations which didn’t work. Now it (they) do….

Ctrl+Alt+5 does not work on my keyboard. Because of various oddities w/Hewlett Packard keyboard, I have had to disabled the keypad (wasn’t able to use, for instance, Alt+End unless I disabled it). I would like to have the option of using the Keypad, but that isn’t feasible for me.

On my computer, I get the Euro sign by typing Ctrl+Alt+5 with 5 on the main keyboard, not the 5 in the numeric keypad.

Very strange, on my UK keyboard I have to type Control-Alt-4 to get a

Even stranger in my 2002 version it’s CTRL+ALT+e (lower case e)

It depends on the keyboard layout. I have my keyboard set to United States (International), yours is probably set to United Kingdom.
In my setting, Ctrl+Alt+e yields

If you want to shorten it even more, you can use e) or anything else ending with a closing parenthesis. However, it makes it more difficult if you really want an e).
