• AutoFill and form fields (2007)

I know this is the “Excel” post place but all of you know everything so I’m asking 2 questions – one about Excel and one about Word.

    1. Is is possible to “fill” a series in Excel from right to left???

    2. How in the world, or can you anymore, make the text form fields in a form in Word gray so you can see where the heck they are in a form?

    Again – my undying gratitude

      1) Yes. You can drag the fill handle (the black square in the lower right corner of a cell) to the right instead of down, and if you prefer Edit | Fill | Series or whatever its equivalent in Excel 2007 is, you can specify that you want to fill across columns instead of across rows.

      2) You should ask your Word question in a separate post in the Word forum. (I don’t know the answer – I don’t have Word 2007 and in previous versions, form fields are *always* shaded.)

Sorry about the Word question – so far I really, really don’t like Office 2007!

As for the Excel question – what I asked was just stupid – you misunderstood (I think) – I wanted to know if you could use the fill handle to go from RIGHT to LEFT – but the answer to my question is yes, so I’m good to go.

Thanks again – BTW – did any of you feel the Iceland earthquake just a little while ago? Living in Southern California, I’m intensely interested (and scared to death) of earthquakes.

FWIW, in Word Options, in the Advanced section, there is a Field Shading option – set it to Always.

Thank you, Rory! I did accidentally find it myself – but was in a hurry and wondered how long it would take me to find it again – ya’ll rock!
