• Automatic Check Names

At my office, we recently converted to Office 2000. My co-worker’s automatic check names does not work. I have looked and it is checked in the options. Yet it still does not work. Mine, however, does work. Our client support area says that it can’t be fixed, that’s just the way it is now. I know that isn’t true, since mine works. Any suggestions on how to get my co-worker’s automatic check names to work?

Not really the solution, but ControlK should invoke the name check.

Thanks, Leif. I’ll pass the keyboard shortcut to my coworker.

Actually the keyboard shortcut is Alt-K (not control-K)

Try to have a look in Tools / Services / Addressing and check the address lists used in the check names function.

Thanks Colin. I checked my coworker’s Outlook setup as you suggested and the list is already there. Thanks anyway.

You could perhaps try the following in an attempt to come closer to a solution:

      * Create a new Outlook profile for the user on the same PC. Does check names work now?

      * If not, create a profile for your colleague on YOUR PC. If it works now, then it may be an idea to re-install Outlook in your colleagues PC??

        Colin,

Thanks so much! Your first suggestion (creating a new Outlook profile for the user on his PC) worked!!! I truly appreciate your help!
