    Hello,

    I have a STYLEREF in the footer of my document. It works great and picks up my
    Appendix Heading Level 1 or APPHEADL1 style.

    But, I also need it to automatically pick up and insert, the text found in the Multilevel List, that is associated with my APPHEADL1 style.

    The text is called: “Appendix -” and it is found in the “Number Format” field of my Multilevel List.

    At the moment, I am manually inserting that text (Appendix – ) in the footer, in front of: { STYLEREF “APPHEADL1” * MERGEFORMAT }

    My goal here is to automate and lock down the headers and footers in my template, so that the everyday user does not have to change anything there.

    Thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions on how to make this automatically happen.

    Please see attached screenshot.

    Regards,

    Jim

      Have you tried the following
      { STYLEREF “APPHEADL1” n } { STYLEREF “APPHEADL1” }

        Yes Andrew that works fine. Since Alias is in CAPS below makes it Title Case.

        { STYLEREF “APPHEADL1” n * Caps} { STYLEREF “APPHEADL1” }

        James does this resolve your Appendix issue now when you lock the styles?
