    Hi,

Am I right in thinking that the AutoNew() function is not available in PowerPoint 2003?

Does anyone know of a way to invoke a simple message box when a user opens a new PowerPoint document from a PowerPoint template?

    TIA,

I know it’s boring, but the method we use is to add a comment or text box to the first slide. The user deletes this when they have read it.

Unlike Word or Excel, PowerPoint has no automatic macros such as AutoExec, but since the 2000 version, it does have application-level events. See Make PPT respond to events; this article by Shyam Pillai contains a link to download his AutoEvents add-in.

Thanks for the replies – I thought so!

Will check out the link for add-in, but will probably put some bold, red text on the first slide!

      Cheers,
