    How can I eliminate the punctuation that Word autuomatically includes with these fields, ie the ) or . after the number. I can’t seeem to find any way to get rid of them.

      With autonum, you can Include the separator switch within the code. It’s s — then you’re selected separator goes between quotes. Note that if you want nothing, you must put a space between the quotes, or Word intuits that you want a period, and if you want a parens to appear before, it will have to be manually keyed.

      With listnum, you define the level with l, and it will utilize the format defined in Format / Bullets and Numbering / Ouline Numbering.
