AV updating errors on server only

If you were seeing issues with updating defender on servers – you aren’t alone.  Michael McElrath reported that it just cleared up.

Manually running update gets to about 66% and then error 0x80070643

Versions that show failed in the log are 1.383.1311, 1321, 1335, 1345, 1361 and 1379

Server 2016, 19 and 22 are all effected, but not all of each version.

Server 2012 R2 was also affected.  Yesterday’s versions 1400 thru 1473 all failed.  This morning’s version 1509 finally worked.

(Of course, not knowing what was truly happening, I tried restarting all the relevant services and rebooting and clearing out prior definitions and resetting Windows Update, all to no avail.)
