I’m not sure how I did it, but somehow I lost having Book1 open on startup. I made sure that a copy of Book.xltx was in the C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice12XLSTART folder and the C:Documents and SettingsmynameApplication DataMicrosoftExcelXLSTART folder. I had a copy in each folder, then I tried having it in just one of the folders at a time. I’ve also tried putting the path name in the “At startup, open all files in:” box. I have tried shortcuts and opening Excel.exe directly. No matter what, Book1 does not appear on each restart. I do know that my Personal.xlsm file is opening from the C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice12XLSTART folder. But that’s the only thing that’s working. I appreciate any help.

      Jim,

Have you edited your shortcut that starts Excel?

If you place the /e switch after the path filename for Excel it will open w/o Book1.

There is no switch in the shortcut as far as I can tell. It was part of an enterprise installation, if I have the terminology right. Thanks.
