I’ve got an old WinXP laptop at home whose CD-drive quit working some time ago. Never needed it so I forgot about it. Starting yesterday it began having problems booting into Windows – did just fine into Safe Mode. Rolling back to a previous state (twice) didn’t entirely solve the problem. I’ve got a WinXP Install CD, hence my dilema.
Is there a way I can boot to a CD drive on another machine? My thoughts are to use VirtualClone to mount the CD, change the BIOS on my problematic laptop to boot frm the Network, and hope I can access the ISO. Hopefully there’s better ideas out there. (I’m cash-poor — kids are in grad school.)
