I have an Excel sheet that has both ActiveX radio buttons and check boxes.

In some cases, two of these might lie on top of one cell, so I can put a border on the cell.

How can I put a square border around each radio and check option? It seems a text box drawn blocks the use of the button.

      Kevin,

If this is what you want:
      37157-kevin1
Then Right-Click on the Control and select Format Control:
      37158-kevin2

That would be if I could get that dialog box for ActiveX check boxes and radio buttons. Am I missing something for ActiveX? Obviously.

      Kevin,

Can you post a sample workbook?

You can add a FORMS group box to act as a border [The forms group box can also be used to separate the separate groups of option buttons]. You can also add a rectangle shape and place it behind the items if you want to have formatting options than just a black outline.

      Kevin,

Is there a reason you’re using Active-X controls vs regular Form Controls. With regular form controls you can do what you want as I stated in my previous post.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I use form controls and a set of radio buttons, don’t they ALL interact with each other?
I need, for example, 3 sets of 4 radio buttons where the 1st row of 4 can only have 1 selected of the four; the 2nd row of 4 can only have 1; etc.
I think all radio buttons are treated equally in form controls unless I clearly don’t see how to differentiate them as they do with ActiveX.

      Kevin,

You need to put them in “Group Box” for them to act as a unit.
      37162-kevin1
      Here’s a sample file:
      37163-KevinButtons
Note: you can edit out the Group Box title if you wish but you can’t get rid of the line. You can however select 3-D shading and it makes the line lighter.
