I want to create a button which will be used as a Browse Button on a form where I am looking for a field to be completed with the location of a file on a local network pc.

I presume that someone has created code for this in the past, although I can’t find antyting on a search.

Can anyone point me in the direction of this code?

    Thanks

    Colin

      Hi Colin,

The best way to create a Browse dialog is by using an API call. You can find an excellent example of this code on the Access Web.

Post back if you have any problems implementing this code.

If you did a Lounge Search on FileOpen, you might have run across this thread, which addresses the same question. It also includes an Access 97 database attachment with sample code. However, if I recall correctly, Access 2002 now has a browse ability similar to that in Word.

        Thanks for the responses.

I did do a lounge search but I used “Browse” I also tried the API page on the Access web and misssed that one. In fact those were the only 2 places I searched, before posting.

I’ll have a look now at both.

        Thanks

        Colin
