I want to rip music from CD’s I own and make a mix I like, then burn the music to multiple CD’s. It appears I have a choice of using Windows Media Player, iTunes, Dell MusicBox or Roxio CD Creator. Do any of these allow burning a playlist over multiple CD’s? Which one is best?

I’d suspect that if the application allows to you can create and save a playlist it will allow you to do burn mulitple CDs (within DRM limits). Which application is best is more likely personal preference. What ever interface you like best is the one you should stick with as you’ll be more comfortable, more likely to remember how to use it, and less frustrated.

Windows Media Player lets me create playlists. However, it does not seem to allow me to burn them to multiple CD’s. It merely tells me when the CD is full by marking the remaining songs with “will not fit.” In order to burn multiple CD’s, I have to write down (manually, I can’t print it from the computer) the songs that were burned, then repeat the process, unchecking those. If it takes 3 or 4 CD’s, this is a really tedious process. I was hoping that someone in this Lounge had specific knowledge of other programs regarding this process.

          Sheryl,
Sorry, I misinterpreted your original post to be that you wanted multiple CDs of the same playlist not that one playlist was too large for one CD and would take multiples. Roxio will show you apporximately how much of a CD is going to be used. Not sure how it (or any of the others) would handle the remainder of the playlist.

      Hi Sheryl

I use dbpowerAMP. It’s not free, but the price is reasonable.
There are two programs. Music converter will rip, organize, play etc. and CD Writer will burn your CDs.

      Have a Great day!!!

Thanks. I was hoping someone would know about one of the programs I already own (Dell MusicBox, Roxio CD Creator, iTunes). Have you ever tried any of them?

I use Roxio’s Direct CD every day but not for the application you are looking for.

I actually use dbpowerAMP to rip and create collections and playlists that I then play over my home FM radio transmitter.

Another program you could look at is WinAMP, but again it’s not one you already have.
Sorry I can’t be of more help. shrug
