I hereby offer a chronicle of my ongoing work with C#, .Net, Visual Studio — the whole
enchilada. This won’t be a tutorial or anything like that. The industry gurus are handling
that task just fine and some are my “mentors from a distance” — Liberty, Getz, Petzhold and
Sherrif just to name a few. I just want to relate, from a VBA programmer’s perspective,
how the .Net scene — and C# specifically — has affected me as I transition from the old to
the new and pass on some observations and what I hope are helpful insights.

I’m also doing this to help me grasp the beast.

To start, a list of the resources I am using and find helpful:

      1. MSDN. Any serious developer using or even interacting with MS products needs some
version of MSDN. DotNet makes this even more important.

      2. Developing Windows-Based Application with MS VB.Net and MS Visual C#. This is a MS Press
      book by Matt Stoecker.

      3. Programming C#, book by Jesse Liberty

      4. AppDev CD-based training: C# Fundamentals, Developing Applications in C#
This is a set of 8 CDs. Instructor: Jesse Liberty.

      5. AppDev CD-based training: Exploring Visual Studio.Net. Instructor: Ken Getz.

Yes, thank you. Beats my why I didn’t spell that right. The CD is only sitting right in front of me.
