    Hello, fellow Loungers;
    Using Windows 7 Home Premium on my Asus lappy.
    In D:OWNER-PC I see 28 folders, starting with “Backup Set 2010-02-14 140605” and the last one is “Backup Set 2011-12-18 190002.” 13 are 2011 and 15 are 2010. It is now April 25 and I don’t see any with 2012.
    Some of them take a lot of HD space and I can’t afford to waste a lot of that.

    Can I delete, e.g. all but the 2 or 3 last ones? Or maybe all of them?

      Can you open these folders and see what’s in them? What is the actual path to these folders? D: is normally not the OS drive unless you are dual booted. This is a partition I use for data.

      You most likely can delete these, but I would check to see what’s in them first, and perhaps back them up to a flash drive or Ext HD or such before deletion to see if something untoward happens.

        Thanks, Ted.

        Yes, “C” holds my OS and “D” if for my data. The “Backup Set 2011-12-18 190002” holds 3 folders:

        “Backup Files 2011-12-18 190002” which has 24 large zip files in it, and
        “Backup Files 2011-12-25 190002” which has 4 large zip files in it, and
        “Catalogs” which tells me “You don’t currently have permission to access this folder” but if I click “Continue” I see one file: “GlobalCatalog.wbcat” of 7,678Kb.

      These must be backup files that you or someone created, I would assume of your data, or Images of your OS. If you have later backups that will protect you should the need arise I would assume the older backups may be deleted. That is something you will have to determine. I have Images of my entire OS that I recreate each month or so. I usually save 6 or 7 of these Images and delete the older ones. My data is similar to this. My financial data is backed up each day to 2 other PC’s, plus a BU file that is separate on my PC. We each set up our own bachup scheme. I suspect these files are some of yours.

      I hope this helps.
