Can a keyboard shortcut be assigned to the Insert>Bookmark command? (without a macro)

I map keyboard shortcuts all the time in Word. But I fail to find that command in the dialog box. Wierd.

    Try it…

    1) View>Toolbars>Customize.
    2) Click the Keyboard button on the bottom of the dialog box.
    3) In the Customize Keyboard dialog box, choose Insert as the category.
    4) Scroll through the commands and see there’s no Bookmark command.

I even searched All Commands and came up short. I’ve never had a needed command not be listed. Did anyone find it in their program?

      Hi Lenny:
That’s because Word keeps changing its mind, like changing annotations to comments (it started as annotations because Word Perfect had comments, but now that they’re not a monopoly… sarcasm. Anyway, try EditBookmark & it should open the dialog box (remember when it used to be under the Edit menu).

      Cheers,

Edited to add: By the way, to find out the command or keyboard combination of any action, do this:
      1. Press Alt+Ctrl+NumPad Plus. The cursor turns to a clover.
      2. Press another keyboard combination or menu choice. The customized commands keyboard dialog box will open with that command selected.

      i.e. Press Alt+Ctrl+NumPad Plus; then choose Insert/Bookmark.

Thanks for the “clover” trick! Now I know what that does. crazy I’ve had it come on by accident a few times and didn’t know what had happened.

Thinking back, the last time Bookmark was in the Edit menu was in Office 95, I believe. You would think they would have remapped the dang Customize Keyboard list by now. Jeez. aflame

Speaking of changes, I was chuckeling tonight thinking about how many times Excel’s Fx command (Functions) has had its name changed. I recall when it was the Function Wizard, then Paste Function, now I see it’s Insert Function. This tool will surely need therapy for an identity crisis. nuts

Thanks again for the help, buddy.
