My aunt’s computer works with windows 98, she would like to be able to save her dial up password, the check box that allows to save her password is greyed out. We have tried to make a new connection but the box to save the pass word is still greyed out.

Could you post the solution you found? It might help other Loungers experiencing this problem. Thank you. smile

FWIW, I came across this problem last week – do not know if the solution is the same but here goes.

DUN (Dial up network) MUST have “Client for Microsoft Networks” installed on the machine for DUN to save a password. You can make sure “Windows Logon” is in the “Primary Network Logon” box, but DUN is setup as a Microsoft Network as far as passwords are concerned.

NOTE:Each DUN Phone account had to be re-created after the “Client for Microsoft Networks” was installed on the machine. Theoretically, this should not have to be done – but is solved a flakey connection issue as well.
