I run a society website, and, periodically, send out an HTML mail to announce society events. Members apply for events by clicking links in the HTML mail to PDF files on the society website. One member using AOL 9.0 found he could not download the PDFs, all he saw was a screen saying “0% downloaded”. I showed him that he could view the HTML mail in the alternative web version, using Google Chrome, and he could click the links to the PDFs without any problem.

Has anyone encountered the same problem with AOL 9.0? Does AOL 9.0 deny access to these files via links? Is there a setting in AOL 9.0 that could allow access?

Does he have Adobe Reader installed? Chrome has its own PDF viewer plugin.

Bruce – good point about Chrome, but, yes, I have verified that this member does have Adobe Reader installed.
