Cannot delete 12 Coplas A San Pedro.mp3: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

This is the message I get when I try to delete the file. This file stops my backup so I tried to delete it. Cannot do so. I’ve forgotten the syntax for maneuvering to and deleting a file in DOS. The file resides on a second internal data drive, G, not the C drive. Could anyone tell me how to get rid of it?

Have you tried to delete the file while in safe mode?

      Try this, or…
DOS Command Index. better yet, look
      through this…Microsoft DOS del command

May also depend on what operating system you have, but the “computer hope” link pretty much covers it.

CRC errors attempting to delete a file probably means the MFT/FAT is on a bad disk sector – may need a new disk as these errors should never be seen by the OS. I’d check your hard disk with the manufacturer’s test software.

I’d also do a checkdisk with the r switch enabled.
Do this exclusively from a boot CD or Floppy and not from within the os.

Have you tried unlocker ? It may have to reboot to remove the file but it should do the trick.
