cannot enable file preview windows 10 file explorer

I’m getting more frustrated with windows the longer I use it. Can someone please show me how to enable file preview in windows 10. I just get a B& W sketch of a house. I checked google and I can’t find the setting in enable file sharing as shown in the internet advanced settings as shown in google example.

View, Options, Change folder and search options, View, Advanced settings, Files and Folders, Always show icons never thumbnails, uncheck (or Restore Defaults), OK.

(I think it’s mountains, not a house.)
