I am trying to find the queries, forms, and reports that use a particular table in Access 2007.

I selected the table in the navigation box and pressed the Object Dependencies under Database Tools. An Object Dependencies box popped up on the right – good. Then a window saying that Dependency information needs to be updated before you can view object dependencies … I agreed to continue. Then another window said that MS Office Access could not enable name Auto Correct for one or more objects because Access could not open and save the objects …

I do not seem to have any of the failure reasons: object open, no permissions to open, db read-only, or linked table.

Any information on how well this feature works or a workaround would be welcomed.

    Thanks in advance.

      Dan,

Perhaps this MS Article will help.

You can also search on: access 2007 object dependencies

      RetiredGeek,

Thanks for the suggestion and link. The link lead me to the AutoCorrect Options. I enabled the Perform name Auto Correct, and then enabled the Log name Auto Correct changes.

That brought up the option of seeing tables Name AutoCorrect Log and Name AutoCorrect Save Failures. Looking at the Failures table, I found one form that consistently failed because it could not be saved. I tried to open it, change it, and save it and it failed to save for me also. Since this is an old form that has been superceded by a newer version, I deleted the form.

Now the Object Dependencies feature is working for me. 🙂

      Thanks a lot,
      Dan..

      Dan,

Glad it worked out for you. I’ve had problems in the past where a form would not save and even crashed the DB. The only fix was to delete it and recreate it from scratch.
