    Hi
When I highlight text in any program, the highlighting disappears as soon as I release the mouse button.
This happens in web pages (IE9), word documents, and windows mail, so it’s a general issue, and not tied to one program.
Using ctrl-A to highlight everything does work. This started this morning, and I haven’t made any changes to the system recently. I’ve scanned the system with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (clear), and rolled the system back to a previous restore point with no effect. Any assistance appreciated.

      Have you tried re-booting?

      Hi Joe
I did try re-booting with no effect; but just now I was playing freecell, and the game was behaving quite erratically when I clicked the mouse, so I changed the mouse in case it was the problem, and everything’s fine now. I had checked in devices, and it said the mouse was working correctly; and the mouse seemed fine in all other ways, but it was the problem after all.

Thanks for posting back. If the troublesome mouse is a wireless mouse you might try changing the battery.
