I have an inherited database that I need to fix. Information is entered into a main form (called an Inspection sheet). Each inspection sheet has a subform called a Log sheet – some Inspection sheets can have several log sheets. My problem is that we can enter info into the Inspection sheet, but when we enter info into a logsheet, we receive an error message saying there isn’t a related record in the inspection sheet table. I thought I had this set up correctly. Can I send the zip file to someone to look at? There are 2 files, one with just the tables and one with the linked tables and the forms. The total zip file is 229kb. There are only 6 dummy records in the file so far. I didn’t set this database up, and I’m having trouble figuring this out.

    Thanks!

Seems like a link problem between parent and child form.
If you send it to me, i’ll have a look at it (Mail address in my profile)

      Melanie,
      I’ve receive your databases.
Open the frm_Data_Entry in design view.
Select y_frm_Log Sheets on the tab Logs.
Open the property and select Data tab
In Link Child Fields and Link Master Fields you have to enter “Key_Log” (without quotes)
