Can’t delete file (97 sr2)

I have a word doc which I cannot delete. It tells me there has been a sharing violation. The original file may have been in use by someone. I made a copy and opened the copy. Imediately after viewing, I closed and atempted to delete. Any Ideas? I have rebooted the client machine, but not the file server.

Hi Cecil:
Reboot and delete all your temp files.

1. Click the taskbar, then press F3.
2. Make sure the “Look in” box has your primary hard drive listed. If you’re not sure, browse & change it to “My Computer”.
3. Make sure “Include subfolders” is ticked.
4. Type ~*.*;*.tmp in the Find box.
5. Delete ’em and see if that helps.
