I have a database, with Security, in Access 2000 SR-1.
I want to change the name in Database Properties, but I get an error:
“Microsoft Access is unable to save the database properties.”
I cannot figure out why/how this is locked?!

Well I just created a new database file and imported everything into it. That seems to have solved this problem.

But if anyone out there knows why the problem occurred, I’d like to know. Thank you!

Are you talking about the project name? If so, you may have had code in an active state. Access 2000 seems to do this unexpectedly, and I’ve had it tell me I wouldn’t be able to save changes (when I wasn’t even running any code) and then go ahead an happily save them after I hit the Reset button. Security might have been an issue, but if you had admin permissions, it should have gone ahead and saved the name change. I can certainly change the project name in my unsecured databases.
