There was an old thread about cataloguing software, but times have changed and things disappear.

I have a few thousand books I would like to catalogue; many of them are quite old, long before ISBN was even thought of; some even before electricty was thought of. While free would be nice, reasonably priced is ok.

And, while I am at it, how about my CD and LP collections?

      John,

I have an Access DB that you’re welcome to if you have Access to run it. I use it for my CD & Books. It will require either some modification or creative thinking since it is based on ISBN. It has a form for inputting books but you’d need to clone it to work on the Music table.

Well, I have Open Office. I’m too cheap to pay the bucks for Billy’s software.

Have a look at Readerware not free but quite inexpensive on what it could do. Having a bar code reader can speed up cataloging.

or Try this free web base book cataloging application at LibraryThing.
