How can the User/Owner name on a computer be changed. A friend is selling her used computer and she wants to get her name off the system?

  Hi Leif,
  That worked fine but……. – I thot this would also change the LOGOFF reference. When I click on START, the menu opens and her name is still listed in the LOGOFF section. How do I get rid of that? Thanks in advance.

  Not terribly sure (I don’t have a W98n system handy, I’m afraid) but try these:

  If she is selling the system — and it may have files on it that she does not want someone to find — a disk format and re-installation might be something she should consider.
