    Scenario:

    • Non-editable PDF document page of a form saved as TIF file
    • TIF inserted into Word document as full page; margins set to 0 (or .13 where auto-fix required)
    • Transparent, borderless text boxes inserted in various areas to “fill in” all the fields on the form
    • Document printed & saved as a new PDF document, completed
[/list]This form is used a couple of times a year w/ minor changes in the description, header & some info, but the fields remain close to the same. I’d like to insert the new TIF document image & scoot some text boxes around rather than recreate the entire document each time w/ all new text boxes & re-populate.

Is there a way to delete/change the TIF image underneath all of the existing text boxes w/o affecting them?

What happens/goes wrong if you delete the tiff image from the document?

The floating text boxes should be unaffected if you replace the graphic unless you remove the paragraphs that the boxes are anchored to. Make sure that you don’t delete any paragraph marks when replacing the background image.

Yes, I thought the text boxes should not be affected, but when deleting the TIF image, the page is blank (or at least the text boxes are no longer visible).

If the text boxes have a transparent border, they will be invisible on a white background.
          a) After inserting a new tif file, make sure you send it to the back (behind other objects) using Drawing | Order | Send to Back from the Drawing toolbar.
You can select any object by dragging a rectangle around it if you activate ‘Select Objects’ on the Drawing toolbar (don’t forget to turn it off later).
