I have a project with tasks, start and end dates, etc. I want to reschedule everything forward 3 months.

I followed the instructions found in help

If you use another project file as a template for a new project, you can use the Adjust Dates macro to schedule this project with the right start and finish dates for tasks.
The Adjust Dates macro helps you adjust all dates in your project in relation to a new start date that you provide when prompted. Tasks with constraints are also adjusted.

My dates are now all in the year 2010 range. I suspect what happened is, the person who created this file had a default start date of 1/1/01, but entered actual task dates in the task list. How do I straighten this out easily?

Hi,

I have not had a lot of success with the macro. If I have to readjust the Project start date I remove all constraints by setting the constraints to the default ASAP using the constraints table. Then from the Project Information dialog box I enter a new Project start date. I then manually set the necessary constraints. This is a problem if there is a constraint on every task. Constraints should be used infrequently to maintain flexibility of the plan. Dependency relationships are the prefered method to get the plan layed out on the timescale.
