A number of things – no showstoppers – but oddities since I updated to KB5036892. Windows 10 22H2.

Just in case anyone has insights:

    1. Weather widget no longer display on the Lock Screen even though set properly. No widgets will on the lock screen as a matter of fact. It does not say “Weather and more…” in settings nor is there a Windows pPotlight as I was lead to believe there may be. But the setting look different and I believe different icons.

Possible only PART of this change was installed?

    2. SOME apps that have shown notifications (and were never listed under notification settings) stopped showing notifications. Specifically, Macrium Reflect. I get the emails, but no longer notifications when run and completed as I did for years.
    3. New files, some locked, in temp since this update.
      Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.db.ses
      Mat-debug-xxxx.log

      Curious what is generating these.

Everything else seems right and stable.

Don’t know if my issue has any relevance but hope it helps.

I’m also on Windows 10 22H2 but hadn’t installed any updates since  2 August 2023 until today. All updates were successfully installed except KB5036892 which failed with the error:

      Failed to install on ‎26/‎04/‎2024 – 0x8024001e

A further response added ‘We could not complete the installation because an update service was shutting down’.  No other user activity was in process whilst Windows was being updated. Maybe a race situation?

Although an active “Retry” button appeared thought I’d look for any other problems before proceeding.

Hope my experience may be of assistance.

      Regards,

Thanks ON. I do not think related. My install went well, though perhaps the longest Windows Cumualtive Update I have yet experienced.

We are running a legacy (unsupported) VB app in Windows 8 compatibility mode. After installing KB5036892 this app fails with a VB error

Something else that broke: Fujiscan Paperstream IP Capture fails with “No Scanner Found” code SX03047E.

Weird   …   Could not open ANY Office app after installing KB5037724..

Repair Office  –  quick repair did not change anything.  Full repair = re-install Office – yes all ok after a re-boot  —   but after next shutdown and reboot – not working again  — no access to any Office app.  Just 3 seconds after clicking to access, nothing happening.

So, did a sys filecheck – seems some system files corrupted, so repaired.   All good at next re-boot.   After next shutdown and reboot  …  no access to Office apps again.

Next step remove update  KB5037724  —   reboot  — and everything works like a dream again.
