I am using Excel 2003 and have created 2 macros.
I have created a custom toolbar and created two buttons on it and have assigned these 2 macros to these two buttons.
The problem is both are default ‘smiley’ buttons.
I need to change one of them else I would not know which runs which macro 🙁
Also, need to change the tool tips for these buttons.
    Can anyone help me?

When you are in Toolbar Customize mode then right-click the toolbar button for options on changing the button-face ( you can manually edit the button face too ).

As for changing the tool tip, you’ll need to do that in VBA … see here:

The tooltip defaults to whatever name you give the button so there should be no need for VBA.
