chrome drops from being default upon reboot

When I turn off laptop and upon restart chrome is no longer default and must be reset in settings default apps. There has been nothing added (programs or apps) and scans by Defender and Malwarebytes come up empty.

Upon restart, what does show as the default browser if it isn’t your choice of Chrome?

There have been other reports here on AskWoody in the last month or two of this type of occurrence with the default being changed to Edge.

My apologies for the late response. I had a hospital stay then the holidays got in the way. When I reboot it reverts to Edge. I deleted CCleaner but nothing changed. I’m still running 23H2 waiting for the all clear from Ms Bradley to move to the next version. As for the other suggestions they didn’t work or caused other problems (Edge Blocker / MsEdgeRedirect)
