Cisco filtering emails

hi
cisco insists on filtering some emails that i get in Thunderbird. for along time i couldn’t get emails from one site, now i get them sometimes but am asked by cisco to accept that they are safe

my isp knows nothing about this, nor do i

anyone have any ideas

What “cisco” are you talking about? Is it software on your PC, or your router?

don’t know all i can saY IS THAT IS ASKING ME TO PRESS An on screen BUTTON to accept the massage as safe. I HAVE NEW ROUTER FROM TALK-TALK ISP but they deny any filtering although i haven’t ask them about the router

adsl wireless router although only use it wired

Sounds like anti virus software but it’s hard to say without seeing it. Are you able to post a screen shot of the message?

the router is new from talk talk isp . its a huawei hg533. it just plugs strain to phone line, no other equipment involved

they still say its nothing to do with them

There are 2 possibilities here.

1. The software is part of your company’s security, specifically a Cisco email and web security appliance – formerly Ironport. Essentially the appliance want to know if the email is spam or valid and is asking you.
2. It is spam / virus.

As you appear to be a home user it seems unlikely that you have a Cisco appliance, but it may be worth checking if your router is a Cisco.

If you have the patience to dig deep enough, it turns out that Talk Talk do employ a Cisco Security Appliance to filter emails: TalkTalk Community – No Response Yet

(It took that guy three months to get them to admit it.)

Bruce, are u saying they do the filtering at their end or built in to the router?. i will check that link tomorrow and definitely look into this……it really annoys me when they start [messing] with my mail
