    For over a year, double clicking ‘file.cmd’ would trigger the correct response. Now, a double-click merely opens it in a text editor. When I try to change the file association, I find that “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” is greyed out, with an indelible/irremovable tick for a text editor. I need two things : 1. How to reverse the greying out and 2. What program to recommend to run the CMD.
