Is there a Windows Explorer replacement or plug-in that has the ability to collapse (like outlining in Excel) file lists shown in groups?

If I understand you correctly:

Explorer XP at http://www.explorerxp.com/ .

That’s not quite what I’m looking for, but I think the attachment will help clarify.

The enclosed screenshot shows our controlled document system for ISO9000/TS16949. In DETAIL view, the column assignments (these columns are available when you right click on a column header and choose MORE…) are as follows:

[*]COMMENTS: Document level[*]AUTHOR: Person responsible for the document[*]SUBJECT: Revision level and revision date of the document[*]CATEGORY: Categorizes the documents based on document number (the first digit indicates a major category & the second digit indicates a sub-category)

1000 — MANAGEMENT
1100 — MANAGEMENT, Document Control
1200 — MANAGEMENT, Continuous Improvement
2000 — MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
2000 — MATERIALS MANAGEMENT, Purchasing
2100 — MATERIALS MANAGEMENT, Receiving
2200 — MATERIALS MANAGEMENT, Warehouse

The file window is sorted and grouped by CATEGORY.

What I’m looking for is a plug-in to explorer (or a replacement file manager) that allows the arrange files in groups option to include the ability to collapse groups the way Excel does.
