Outlook generates an event (Application_ItemSend) that you can monitor and, I believe, intercept. The explanation of what is involved with that takes several paragraphs, so hopefully you have a good reference that covers that part.

Hello. I am creating my first COM Add-in for Microsoft Outlook 2002. I want my module to be triggered whenever the SEND button is pressed in Outlook. How do I cause this to occur?

Note by HansV: This question is a sequel to post 276113 in the Outlook forum. Outlook has only one file in which VBA can be stored, so something else is needed to distribute code.

You may want to also look into the OutlookObject_Send events (where OutlookObect is MailItem, etc.) Some MS newsgroup posts mention some sort of “unreliability” with the ItemSend application event in certain situations.
