If you rely on Comcast for your internet service, you might have to change your usage habits next year. Beginning on January 1, Comcast is implementing a data cap of 1.2TB for home users. Users who exceed that threshold will incur additional monthly fees.
Users who go over the cap will be charged $10 for every 50GB of data consumed over the initial limit. Additional monthly charges will never exceed $100…

I had to search to find out how long customers had to use their 1.2TB data – it seems to be monthly. I then found that approximately 5% of their customers actually use that much, and they do offer unlimited plans. Median usage is 300+GB/month!

They are also offering “buffer” limits for Jan/Feb/Mar.

I just upgraded my Comcast Xfinity service to unlimited because of this change: Free for the first six months, then $11 extra per month for Xfi Complete (offer ends in four days on 12/30/2020). I’ve been using nearly double the forthcoming 1.2 TB limit for the last six months since cancelling cable TV service.

It should be noted that 27 of the 39 US states with Comcast service already had data caps for more than four years. The change from 1/1/21 is for the other 12 states (in North East):

Not according to your quote.
280G + 192G = 472G = 40% of your monthly allowance. You can stream another 2 series before even getting close.

I “stream” 11 series.
The example by Fox has 1 series and 2 kids on Zoom. What about parents working from home too ? What about streaming 5-10 series a month ?
I, like b use more than 1.2TB per months. I am not in the US, I am on 1Gb fiber Optic with no caps.
