I like to use the Comment boxes in cells in Excel. Some time back, something happened to my comment box and when it comes up, it starts with a colon ( and has about two lines spaced down. Each time I have to highlight the area and delete or paste from somewhere.
I have searched and searched for the answer to this but have not found it.
Does someone out there know how to fix this ? I have used the Windows settings to change colors if I need but there is nothing there to change the default when the box comes up.
    Thanks everyone

It sounds like you have removed your “username” [tools – options- general(tab)]

Once you have a username entered you will get Username the colon and then the line. This is how comments work. If you do not want the username colon and next line, you can remove them after the fact with a macro. post 290,956 has some code that may be adapted (it also Changes the font to BOLD, Arial size 12 and red and Changes the bkgrd of the box to white)
