A friend of mine installed a second hard drive on my computer and we downloaded all my C drive on this new E drive. I was trying to protect myself in case my C drive crashed. Recently I had a problem with a Pop up called Security Tool and I could not access anything on my computer. This Pop up took over scanning my computer to tell me that I had 31 infected files and proceeded to take me to their web site to buy the program to remove these files. I tried in vain to come out of it without buying anything and therefore it would not leave my screen. So again I called on my friend to help me get rid of this. He downloaded Windows XP on the backup disk and said he scanned the whole computer overnight and the AVG found only one Trojan horse file which he deleted. We assumed that everything was ok. When I brought my computer home, I realized that it boots up on the Backup drive and calls it Drive C in the Windows Explorer. I know that all my Icons on my desktop are not my latest ones and I cannot work with my software as nothing is up to date. I would like my computer to boot up on Drive C of course but load what is now on Drive E and return my Backup drive to Drive E.
My friend claims it is complicated and he has to pickup my computer to do it. Is it really complicated or is it something I can do myself?
I hope I was clear with my explanation and description of my problem.
