    My Gateway labtop 6705 will not start. I plug it in and nothing, no noise, no lights–total nothing happens. What do you think it might be and about what would it cost? Just looking for someone that has some knowledge about computers. When I take it in to get fixed I want to make sure someone isn’t filling me full of s—. Any suggestions of what might be wrong with it would be greatly appreciated.

      Without ANY indication of action at all, the first obvious suspect HAS to be the power supply. Have you tried running on battery and AC power?

      Second most likely suspect would be a failed HD. sad

      I checked the power supply cord with a ometer and I also tried running it from it’s battery. The cord is good and so is the battery
