    greetings,

I have a field that needs to be colored if another cell equals “done”

The first cell is in A2, the second cell containing the text = to “done” is c2

How to handle this with conditional formatting?

    Thanks,
    Brad

Select cell A2 (the cell that you want to format conditionally).
      Select Format | Conditional Formatting…
Select “Formula Is” from the first dropdown.
Enter the following formula in the box next to it:

      =(C2=”done”)

      Click the Format… button.
Specify the formatting that you want.
      OK your way out.

        Hans,
Thanks. I was making it way too hard. I kept trying an “IF” and I could not figure out the “then” part

        Thanks,
        Brad
