I read this once in a WOMM newsletter but can’t remember and can’t find it. What were the tips for selecting long pieces of text in Word without your scroll speed going crazy and going past the end point you wanted? I’d love it if you could reply or tell me where to find this in the archives.

Select first word in text, move cursor to end of text, hold down Shift, left click. All of the text between should then be selected.

Alternatively, put cursor at start of text and press F8. This allows you to move at your speed through the doc (all keys work – left/right/up/down arrow) until you have everything you want selected. Copy/cut/whatever the text, then press Esc to get out of selection mode.
