I wondered if anyone out there knew how to convert an excel spreadsheet to html (at the same time keeping all functions and macros)?

    Thanks,
    Kim

      Seriously?

Why not just put a link on your page to the .XLS file itself? Internet Explorer can load an Excel spreadsheet pretty well. If the user wants to save it to their PC they can pull down File..Save as. Try it and see what you think.

But if you think you’re gonna recreate Excel, all its functions and the VBA macro facility in HTML, well… brickwall

If you have Excel 2000, File, Save as, HTM does a good job at keeping all the bits (including functions and macros). It’s XML, and it does get a bit bloated, but it works. I had response time problems doing this on an intranet- the response time was 2 seconds vs instant for other HTML- so we went down another path.

Excel 97, File, Save as, HTML give a basic HTML view, but does not keep macros etc.

You can download a utility here to covert to HTML:

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
