    I have done this before but I’m drawing a blank. I have numbered lists (heading 1 thru 4) and I want to convert the numbering code to a plain text number. I have asked Clippit but he is no help.
    Could someone please refresh my memory.

      JC,

      The following line of code should do it, if you don’t mind using a macro:

      ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText (wdNumberAllNumbers)

      I’m not sure if there is a way to do this directly within the Word interface, but if there is, I’d love to know it!

      Does copying the list then Paste Special/Unformatted Text do what you want?
