Imagine my surprise when I booted up my laptop on Wednesday and saw that Copilot had been installed. There was an icon for it on the taskbar. Install date was October 20, 2024. I did have the laptop on all day on that date, I DID NOT have an internet connection. I was running a bowling tournament and the wifi was password protected and I did not have or ask for the password. Laptop was powered down until Wednesday October 23, 2024. I powered it up to do some very minor housekeeping, as I would be using it to run some jackpots in my Wednesday night bowling league. It automatically connected to my network when it powered on. I am completely mystified as to how Copilot got installed, especially while running WuMgr. I did get it uninstalled (I hope) using the Windows Uninstall app in Settings. If anyone has any ideas on how this would have happened, I sure would like to know.
I know this laptop is old and slow, but it runs the software I need it to run without any problems.
Hey Microsoft: It’s NOT your machine! Keep your sticky fingers off until I tell you it’s okay to install something! (shakes fist at clouds) /rant
