Just came across Copy URL :: Add-ons for Firefox – even niftier than sliced bread…..

    You get a toolbar button:

(It is copying in BBCode, despite it saying HTML)

plus the options to copy in various formats:

So, for example, with one click you can get:

    Code:
    [url url=http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/index.php?showtopic=769342]Signatures... again! » Windows Secrets Lounge[/url]

    copied to your clipboard.

I use a similar add-on, CoLT :: Add-ons for Firefox. It can be used to copy the page URLs, but in addition if you right-click on a link you can copy formatted versions of the link and the link text. As with Copy URL you can customize what it copies to the clipboard. There is no toolbar button for CoLT, it just uses the context menus.

For less clutter on the context menus Copy URL is the better choice, but CoLT has the benefit of working with links.

        Ah yes, both useful! Thanks
