Copying Short-cuts

For many years I have used drag & Drop for copying files usually jpg’s onto a CD or DVD. Now I find I only get short cuts for the files I copy? Even if I use ctrl+c I have tried using M$ vista’s Photo Gallery and can only get short-cuts. Has something changed?

Ensure that the items in the location you are dragging them from are not shortcuts themselves.
Do not use the Windows Live Photo Gallery to drag and drop from. Use their actual explorer folder.
All items in Windows Live Photo Gallery are shortcuts themselves.

The actual pictures folder is in “C”, users,user name, My pictures. Going to this folder should get you the real files, not shortcuts to the files.
