Greetings.
I have a long long standing problem with my Outlook. I have multiple PST files open, one of which has email from last year and I want to close it. However, when I try clicking on it, I get an “object not found” error. So far I have:
– renamed the PST file. Outlook doesn’t find it, but also doesn’t remove the offending entry
– used Control Panel | Mail | Data Files, but the PST isn’t listed in that list
– added it again (through Control panel). I now get two copies exhibiting the same problem, and can only delete one of them via Control Panel
– created a new profile. The problem went away hurrah! BUT when I imported the settings (I’ve got lots of rules and email accounts) the corrupt setting came with it
– repaired the PST file using SCANPST. There were errors, and it claims to have fixed them, but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference at all.
Since the PST in question is about 1Gb (as are the others) I would like to close it as I think that it is slowing Outlook down, but nothing I can do makes any difference. I really, really don’t want to start all over again. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Stuart
