I often have to make up master lists for lookups or sumproduct formulas of every combination of A,B,C and 1,2,3 for instance. I cannot think of a simple way to develop the combinations in a list other than manually. Is there an approach or formula or quick macro that could produce all the combinations? TYIA

      Are expecting results such as:

      A1
      A2
      A3
      B1
      B2
      B3
      C1
      C2
      C3

I use Access to generate the results I use two non linked tables in a query to generate the possible results. I’ve attached an example

Thanks. Elegant solution. I will try it with my Excel data. I assume I can just import two workbooks into Access and use your query?

You could import the whole sheet or just copy the data that you want to combine into the two tables

My Excel add-in “Display Word Permutations” may be useful?
It is attached. It will display permutations for words or numbers up to 8 characters.
      (Order matters in permutations)
There is also an option to flag legitimate words created in the list.
It finds the first empty column on the active worksheet to place the list.
      A Word.doc install/use file is included.
