Creating PDF of Excel file (Excel 2003 SP3)

Hello all,
I have a form created by someone other than me. Once its filled in, I have to print a PDF verions of the form, but I’m only getting 3/4 of the form in the PDF file. I’m using Adobe Acrobat 7.0.9 Professional version. Attached is a copy olf the Excel form. Has anyone encountered this problem before, and do you know how can I fix it?

When I printed the sheet to Adobe I got pretty much the same results. However using the 2007 Addins from Microsoft when I published it to pdf it came out perfectly. I am not sure if that addin from Microsoft is available for Office 2003 but you might check.
I would post the link, but I seem to be having a problem with the TagPanel.

Do you mean the addin that allows you to click on the Acrobat icon in Office applications and create PDFs that way? If so, I have that addin, and it comes out the same way (3/4 of a page). If there is a different addin, could you just post the url and I’ll cut and paste? Thanks!

I sure can now that I figured out what was going on with the TagPanels: Like I said however this is for Office 2007 but you never know.

Thanks. I doubt we’ll be upgrading to 2007 any time soon, so I’ll just file that link away for future reference.

Any other ideas what might be wrong and how to fix it? I’ve never had this problem with any other Excel file.

To the best of my knowledge the add-in only works with Office 2007, I’m afraid. (it was, I think, originally going to be built into Office 2007 itself)

Do you mean 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS? That works with Office 2007 only, there is no version for Office 2003 or earlier.

I don’t really use PDF documents much but what I did was go into your excel and made the page setup 60% of the original and then printed to PDF Creator which is a free program I found somewhere and I got this if it is any good to you

Thanks, Steve. I’ve tried reducing to 60% and that doesn’t work either with Adobe. I guess maybe I’ll go look for PDF Creator.

Just out of interest, I thought I’d have a poke around. Using Excel 2002, I’m getting the foreshortened result you get in both Adobe Acrobat and PDFCreator.

If I copy everything to a new workbook, no problem – however I do get these two oddities (in red below). Is this something to do with it originating in Excel 2003?

The “oddities” are outline buttons; the outline is also present on the original sheet but it has been hidden – there’s a check box for Outline Buttons on the View tab of Tools | Options…

G’day,

I regularly use doPDF to print from many Windows programs to a PDF file, and I’ve tried it with your workbook and it looks fine to me (see attachment).

IMHO doPDF, available at http://www.dopdf.com, is an extemely useful program – free, and a small download (and I don’t have any connection with the company that produces it). Unlike many of the other PDF printer programs this one doesn’t rely on Ghostscript.
