I need to learn how to create a continuous spreadsheet-like scheduler form with 7 dates running horizontally and various time periods vertically. I’d like to be able to both view and enter appointments.

Don’t have a clue how to get started. Does anyone have a demo/sample that I could look at? Once I understand the basic approach I can ask more intelligent questions.

Do you really need to do this in Access? Creating an appointment calendar type of form is a lot of work. Outlook has extensive schedule/calendar features, and recent versions support group schedules.

D Willett posted a monthly calendar demo in post 285719.

Several members of the UtterAccess discussion forum have posted appointment calendars; there may be something you can use. You have to become a member to be able to download files.

In addition to the suggestions by Hans, we have had good results using ActiveX controls to do this sort of thing. Check out the Calendar controls available from DBI Technologies, Inc. at http://www.dbi-tech.com/product_page_Calendar_Tools.asp%5B/url%5D. They also have more sophisticated scheduler controls that you might want to consider. I should warn you that using such controls often results in fairly complex VBA projects, but they do offer much more complete solutions with features such as conflict detection and avoidance, the ability to schedule a maximum number of simultaneous activities and the like. Post back if you have further questions.
